Fred has been playing the drums since he was 12 years old when and was taught by Rodger Odell, the drummer from Shakatak.

Fred then played in various rock and jazz bands in the Ware and Hertford area and in 1986 formed Acid Jazz band ‘The Four Fold’ with his brother, which played the London gig circuit to critical acclaim for 2 years.

In 1998 Fred was asked to play with the ‘Southside Blues Band’ fronted by the late, great Dennis Dell who was the lead singer with the sixties group ‘The Honeycombs’.

In the late1990’s Fred played percussion for a band from Cambridge called Angstrom where he met Alex Tsentides, Dave Kendall & Mark Page. At the same time he played occasionally with a Blues band in Saffron Walden called ‘The PPS Band’ which over time became more permanent. Fred also plays with another Walden based band called ‘The Unusual Suspects’. All in all he’s been playing the drums for about 150 years.
